PURPLE IS HIRING AN EVENTS MANAGER IN NYC

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The right candidate will be hard-working and proactive, and will have a proven track record in event management across the fields of fashion, art, culture and luxury brands. They will also hold a strong interest in contemporary culture, have a finger on the pulse and be aware of the latest social, fashion, art or music trends, with strong contacts in these fields.

SKILLS SET REQUIRED FOR THE ROLE OF EVENTS MANAGER:

  • Extensive database of influencer, celebrity and VIP contacts
  • Strong social skills: ability to build relationships and develop new contacts
  • Excellent communication skills: both written and spoken
  • Great efficiency and attention to detail
  • Dedication, diligence and enthusiasm
  • Strong initiative and creative thinking
  • Competent use of the following IT programs: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Office Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint and Events GPS

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Curating and oversee collation of bespoke event guest lists identifying objectives and including any data provided by clients, making sure all data remains confidential
  • Managing budgets and reporting
  • Managing invitation distribution, following up with guests and oversee updating the RSVP list
  • Developing the post-event press strategy to secure coverage with key titles including inviting and liaising with social reporters and accredited photographers
  • Advise on and/or secure catering companies, menus, presentation and execution if needed
  • Advise on and/or negotiate appropriate entertainment and/or talent for the event
  • Approach appropriate brands for sponsorship if necessary
  • Draft event press release to be circulated to target social press
  • Manage the in-house photographer in accordance with the client’s budget and briefing the photographer with the client’s image requirements
  • Coordinate staffing requirements, delegating roles and responsibilities as well as staff briefing ahead of the event
  • Prepare collateral for the event for example door lists, media alerts for photographers, key shot list and faces sheets for photographer shadows
  • Managing the flow of guests at the event
  • Coordinating the in house photography and ensuring the client’s brief is adhered to
  • Identifying VIPs and creating photo opportunities for distribution to media
  • Post event image editing and distribution of press release to key media
  • Oversee the booking and management of accommodation and/or cars for VIP guests prior to and during the event
  • Liaise with contacts to arrange gifting where necessary
  • Oversee seating plan and managing place cards if necessary
  • Creative thinker who can think outside the box on event concepts and execution.
