Bella Hadid has many jobs, including: world-famous supermodel, unofficial Queen of Cannes, noted pizza enthusiast, regrettable Fyre Festival promoter, catsuit-wearer, haver of many magazine covers and face of many brands, ranging from Nike to Dior. Relevant to the latter, she’s added one more to her roster, announcing via Instagram on Monday that she’s the new face of Max Mara’s accessory line.
As Bella continues to build upon her accolade of Models.com’s 2016 Model of the Year, this is hardly surprising; if you follow her on any form of social media, you know she’s barely in one place for more than a few days at a time, shooting for her various gigs around the clock. It also isn’t surprising that she and big sister Gigi Hadid are nabbing many of the same contracts — see: activewear (Reebok for Gigi, Nike for Bella), beauty (Maybelline for Gigi, Dior for Bella) and lucrative runway spots (Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show).
Are we already reaching a Hadid singularity? Lest you’ve forgotten, Gigi fronted Max Mara’s accessories for several seasons, beginning with the Fall 2016 campaign, and also served as the face of its ready-to-wear ads for the Fall 2015 and Spring 2017 seasons. There must be something the Italian brand likes about the Hadid family, and we have a feeling that “something” has to do with their combined 48.4 million Instagram followers, roughly the size of the population of Kenya (if you don’t count overlap). But perhaps I’m just jaded: Their #proudmommy Yolanda Hadid did raise them to have excellent manners, and that’s not to be overlooked.
